Baumbach

Baumbach
Biography

Baumbach is an Austrian electronic music project of Richard Gaisbauer. Richard started composing electronic music in 1985, which was influenced by the Berlin school icons Klaus Schulze and Tangerine Dream. Step by step he developed his own style, influenced by a wide range of music styles, sounds  of nature and live. Sequences from old school synths, combined with sounds from the metro in Paris with an overlay of a sufi prayer. That’s typical for Baumbach.

Baumbach stands for exciting musical ambient landscapes, which are peppered by subtle ethno elements, spacy electric guitar solos and jazzy figures. “Vangelis on Triphop. Pat Metheny on Space-ethno.”  wrote the well known music magazine “Eclipsed” in 2011 and gave an excellent feedback for “Empty Chairs”.

Nevertheless Baumbach is independent and too high-class and rich and cannot be classified as pure ambient music. “Empty Chairs” was on air at the us radio station of John Diliberto “Echoes”, and also on international radio stations like the Austrian fm4 or Spanish lostfrontier.
